I have lived, and raised a family, in Bathurst for more than thirty years. The last twenty of these have been in Peel, where I have enjoyed the freedom to create and occasionally exhibit locally.
I have been a maker since childhood and having explored many mediums over the years, I seem to have settled with “found and unwanted objects” as the basis of my art. Anything from an old table leg or broken jewel to found bones and scrap metal. I see beauty in these things, with stories to be told in their assemblage and transformation. Pieces are often functional and inspired by the objects used in their creation. Many reveal their name, their story, or their song during their making. Others sit for months, or even years, waiting for the right part to be found that brings it all together.
All pieces are individual and made from broken or neglected things (much like us). That, however, is not how I see them and it delights me to share my work with others who see it too. As a member of the Arts Trail, it delights me to meet those passing through and the new owners of my pieces as they travel far and wide.
